Hungarian | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
If this text appears, it means that background information is available, but that I have not yet had the time to add the information on these arms. Just [|mail me with the name of the town in the subject !] and I will add all information that I have !
The arms in the 1970s |
The above arms were used from 1954 until around 1990.
The blue colour symbolised peace, red was the colour of the communist party, and black symbolized coal. Oroszlany is a mining town, coal fields were discovered in the 1930's, at that time Oroszlany was a little village. Black and red together symbolize how dangerous and hard it was to be a miner (coal and death = black. The red also symbolised the life of heroes).
