Wappen von Admont/Arms (crest) of Admont

Official blazon

In von Silber und Rot gespaltenem Schild farbverwechselt zwei anstehende facettierte Rauten.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 15, 2017, but have been use much longer.

The arms are those which the great Benedictine monastery of Admont has used for centuries. In the past, the citizens of today's municipality were immediate subject of the monastery. A steward administrated the settlement which never had the right to use a seal of its own. When the settlement became - in time - a free municipality and a market borough, it continued to use the abbey arms.
