State: Steiermark
District: Liezen
Additions: 2015 Gams bei Hieflau, Hieflau, Palfau
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 4, 1972.
The municipality lies in the valley of the river Enns in Upper Styria. This region is rich in mountains, hence the bar wavy and the mountains in the arms, and forests. Naturally, forest-culture is important, which is symbolised by the hammer and the axe.
The Styrian panther was put into the arms because of the name "Landl". This means the Land Steiermark, the State of Styria.
