CHOISY-EN-BRIE

Département : Seine-et-Marne

Blason de Choisy-en-Brie

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The first quarter shows the two rivers in the village; the red is the colour of the Brie region. The crosier refers to the Saint-Martin-des-Champs abbey, to which the village historically belonged. The flint refers to a prehistoric site near the village. The fourth quarter shows three shuttles, symbol for the formerly important weaving industry. The inescutcheon with the 7-pointed star symbolises the seven roads in the village radiating from the church.
