Official blazon
В червленом (красном) поле под лазоревой (синей, голубой) главой, обремененной серебряным кораблем с тремя мачтами (без парусов). Левая лазоревая (синяя, голубая) перевязь тонко окаймлена серебром.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 1, 2005.
The blue bend refers to the Tuapse river. The chief is a symbol of the harbour and the importance of shipping for the city.
The previous arms were officially granted on November 19, 1969.
The arms has the same symbolism, however in the upper half a oil refinery and in the lower a statue, 'Fighters for Soviet power', was added. These were removed in 2005.
The previous arms were also used and shown in different colours, which were later confirmed in the new arms:
In 2008 the city was rewarded with the title "City of Military Glory" and thus is allowed to use the ribbon and swords around the arms:
