KUNGSÖR

Province (Landskap): Västmanland
County (Län): Västmanlands län
Additions : 1971 Kung Karl (1952 Torpa, Björskog, Kungs-Barkarö)

Kungsör kommunvapen

Official blazon

Sköld delad av blått, vari en krona av guld, och silver, vari en av vågskuror bildad blå bjälke, överlagd med en stolpvis ställd röd kavle.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 7, 1941.

The arms refer in the lower half to the Royal Ford over the Arbogaån river in the municipality. The crown in the upper half is a canting symbol (Kung is king) and also refers to the royal mansion established by King Gustav I in 1538.
