Distinctive Unit Insignia Description: a silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/32 inched (2.78 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess engrailed arched and enhanced Gray and Sable, afoot engrailed Azure fimbriated Argent, overall issuant from dexter chief a lightning flash Tenné fimbriated of the fourth. Attached below the shield is a Silver scroll inscribed PRET TOUJOURS PRET" in Black letters.
Origin/meaning
The Lightning in the Signal Corps Colours symbolise the rapid communication provided by the Battalion. The other parts of the Shield symbolises the many amphibious landings supported during World War II in the Pacific. The Sealion symbolises operations in Leyte, the Philippines. The Trumpet symbolises communications. The Flag symbolise Sybolises service in the Korean War.
The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Inisgnia was approved on 29 June 1953. The Coat of Arms was amended on 14 april 1995 to delete the Army Reserve Crest. The Present Crest was added on 27 October 1966.
