Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 14th July 1983.
The local castle (shown in the arms) belonged originally to the family Porqueres - Santa Pau, whose arms are shown too: barry Argent and Gules. It was sold to the monastery of Banyoles in 1251, symbolized here by an abbot staff above the castle.
