Origin/meaning
The arms are the arms of the Montmorency family, one of the most noble families in France. The arms also appear in many other civic arms in the area, such as : Bessancourt, Deuil-la-Barre, Eaubonne, Écouen, Ézanville, Montsoult, Le Plessis-Bouchard, Saint-Leu-la-Forêt and Taverny, as well as in the arms of the Belgian municipality Herseaux.
