Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 29th January 1987.

The arms show the local castle on a hill and the arms of the Besoras (barons and, since 1698, marquises): three pales Argent on Sable. The marquis crown reminds that the castle was the centre of the marquisat of Besora.
