Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1902.
The arms were designed in 1901 and adopted in 1902. The cross is the cross of the State and Diocese of Speyer, to which the area belonged from around 1100-1200. The crossed corsiers refer to the former monasteries Hirsau, Gottesaue and Herrenalb, which all had possessions in the municipality from the 13th or 14th century until 1803.
The only known historical seal dates from 1811 and shows a kind of village sign resembling the letter A.
