ELS PLANS DE SIÓ
Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida/Lerida
District (Comarca) : Segarra
Official blason
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 6, 1994.
The municipality of Els Plans de Sió was formed in 1974 when Les Pallargues (nowadays the chief town) and L'Aranyó merged. The arms allude to both villages, and are canting: they show three "palles" (Catalan for "straws") representing Les Pallargues, and an "aranya" (Catalan for "spider") representing L'Aranyó.
