Origin/meaning

The arms show in the upper part the lion of the Pfalz, as the village historically belonged to the Pfalz. The lower part shows the eagles of the Counts of Leiningen-Dagsburg, who acted as vassals for the Princes of the Pfalz. The small shield shows the town's initial.

The only historical seal of the town dates from the 18th century and shows a quartered shield with the lion in the first and fourth quarter and an eagle in the other quarters. The shield also showed a small escutcheon with a B. The present arms were designed in the early 20th century and officially granted in 1925.
