Official blazon

In Schwarz ein stehender goldener Widder.

Origin/meaning

Widdern received city rights around 1300 from the Lords of Dürn. The oldest seal dates from 1511 and show the canting ram (Widder). All later seals and images show the ram as the symbol for the city, with or without a small hill in the base of the shield. The arms were officially granted in 1933 in the colours of Württemberg.
