ULSTEIN

Province : Møre og Romsdal

Arms of Ulstein
Official blazon
Norwegian

På blå grunn ein gull bjelke laga med ulvetannsnitt.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 30, 1986.

The arms show a bar described as wolf-toothed, which makes the bar canting (ulf=wolf), even though the name of the municipality is not derived from a wolf, but either from the Ulva river of the name Ulv. The blue colour represents the sea, the gold the wheat.
