The arms of Olost show different elements of the village's history: the parish church of Santa Maria (dating back to the 10<sup>th</sup> century), the lion Gules on Argent taken from the arms of the Peguera family (lords of the local castle since 1230) and the royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or), that symbolize the jurisdiction of the counts-kings.
