RUFI

Canton : Sankt Gallen
Incorporated into: 1790s Schänis

Wappen von Rufi/Coat of arms (crest) of Rufi

Official blazon

In Schwarz eine gestürzte Spitze, belegt mit einem ausgerissenen, roten Löwenkopf

Origin/meaning

The municipality never had arms. The above village arms were adopted in the late 1990s.

The red lion is taken from the arms of the Schänis municipality. The arms also symbolise the valley ('rüfe') from the Rufibach.
