The village was historically a longtime possession of the Abbey of Sainte-Gertrude of Nivelles. Hence the name and the image of St. Gertrude of Nivelles in the arms. The arms were officially granted on December 18, 1970.
The village was historically a longtime possession of the Abbey of Sainte-Gertrude of Nivelles. Hence the name and the image of St. Gertrude of Nivelles in the arms.
