Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 3, 1974.

The wavy bend represents the Pardo river which flows near the city, the fleur de lys is the attribute of the Blessed Virgin, patron saint of the city and the two axes alludes to lumber industry.

The supporters show that corn and orange are important agricultural products of the region.

The shield is surmounted by a mural crown appropriate to a city and a scroll below the shield bears the name of the city.
