MUSSELBURGH AND INVERESK (Community Council)

Area Council : East Lothian

Official blazon

Azure, three anchors in pale, one in chief and two in the flanks 0r, accompanied by as many mussels, two in the dexter and sinister chief points and the third in base Proper.
Above the Shield is placed a Coronet appropriate to a statutory Community Council, videlicet:- a circlet richly chased from which are issuant four thistle leaves (one and two halves visible) and four pine cones (two visible) Or, and in an Escrol below the same this Motto "Honesty".

Origin/meaning

The arms are granted on March 31, 1992.

The arms are based on the old arms of Musselburgh, see there. By special request the type of shield illustrated in the 1777 grant to Musselburgh has been preserved.
