Wapen van Beselare

Official blazon

Van sabel met een keper vergezeld van drie schelpen, het geheel van zilver.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted by royal decree on December 12, 1953.

The arms are derived from the arms of the Van de Woestyne family, Lords of Beselare. Rogier van de Woestyne bought the estate of Beselare in 1418 and the family owned the estate until the early 19th century.
