Origin/meaning
The Ship uses the arms of its namesake Vice Admiral Christen Thomesen Sehested (1664-1736), known for the Battles of Stralsund and Rügen in 1712. He was also the Commander of the 1701 founded Sea Cadet Academy. Approved by HM Queen 1 December 1976.
