Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 21, 1968.

The arms show the two main sources of income for the municipality, forestry and water power. One of Austria's largest production forests is in the municipality, as well as two large water power stations. The colours of the lower field represent the water and the messing, the product of one of the largest factories in the town, and running on the power generated by the power stations.
