Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 25, 1994.

The anchor on the shield symbolizes powerful steadfastness, but also the good hope that is cherished for the wholesome and useful influence that must emanate from the school.

The flame has a dual purpose: It is firstly the light of knowledge, values and norms that the learners must receive at school. Secondly, it is the civilizing and refined spirit that must emanate from the learners after they leave school to fill their rightful places in society with responsibility.

The triquetra is an educational symbol, symbolizing the tripartite relationship between learner, teacher and parent.
