Origin/meaning

The arms combine the arms of the Chandio and Tournelle families. The village of Bellenod was owned by the Tournelle family. When Guillaume de la Tournelle died, his wife, Marguerite de Chandio became owner and as they had no children, the village bacame a possession of Pierre de Chandio and remained in his family.
