LA BISBAL D'EMPORDÀ
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
Official blazon
Escut caironat: de gules, una creu tripomejada d'argent. Per timbre una corona mural de ciutat.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 18, 1992.
The cross pommée is the traditional sign of the town, possibly a reference to the bishops of Girona, who were the landlords of La Bisbal (literally meaning, in Catalan, "the Episcopal [Town]").
