Official blazon

Origin/meaning

Some time in the course of the 13th century a mining settlement appeared in the deep woods of Sumava. King John of Luxembourg bestowed the first mining privileges upon the village. These privileges were further extended by later sovereigns until, on July 18th, 1584, Rudolph II promoted Kašperské_Hory to the status of a Royal Mining Town. The town received its coat-of-arms in the same year.

The arms show a city gate and two mining hammers.
