Official blason:

Origin/meaning :
The upper left image was proposed in 1956. The arms were finally granted on January 17, 1962 in different colours.

The oldest known seal of Nieder Wöllstadt dates from 1770 and shows two shields, one with a rose, the other with a horseshoe. The rose most likely is a symbol of justice, the horseshoe the historical village symbol. The arms combine the two elements. The official arms are in the colours of the County Solms, to which the area historically belonged.

Literature : Hessisches Wappenbuch, 1956; information from the Wöllstadt council.
