Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 30, 1998.
The castle of the Corvineşti reminds of the historical past; the raven with a ring in its beak, taken from the coat of arms of Iancu de Hunedoara, is part of the heraldic tradition of the city; the elements in the fourth quarter evoke the metallurgical activity.
