Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Blue and gold (yellow) are the school colors. The upper half of the shield suggests the “bib” from a seaman’s dress blue uniform and reflects the school mascot, “The Blue Jackets”. The red disc symbolizes the surgical prowess of Dr. William Beaumont, the school’s namesake.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: Blue and gold are the school colors. The silver prop and engine cowling are that of the “Spirit of St. Louis” airplane of Charles Lindbergh, suggesting the skill, determination and courage of the cadets.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved on 30 Jaunary 1996 and Shoulder Loop Insignia on 3 October 1997.
