Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1971.
The mail horns symbolises the importance of the place for postal services, while the crane (sw. trana) was a charge in the canting of former borough of Traryd.
The previous arms of Markaryd showed a pale flanked by four postal horns.
These arms were granted in 1948 and also refer to the postal services.
