Origin/meaning

The arms were proposed in 1994 and show three swords over the arms of the Gargan-Rollepot family. The latter were Lords of Monchel in the 18th century and thus the last lords of the village. The three swords symbolise the Saints Juste, Arthème and Honeste, who lived in the area in the 7th century and were killed by decapitation near the present village.
