Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida

Cogul.png

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de sinople, una església d'argent. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 30, 1991.

The arms show a church as a traditional sign of this village; the local church is dedicated to Saint Mary. El Cogul is mainly famous for its cave paintings in the Cova dels Moros, where we can see a group of women dancing and some hunting scenes.
