CASTELLVÍ DE ROSANES

Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

Castellvir.jpg

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de gules, un castell d'argent tancat d'atzur, acostat de dues roses d'argent botonades i barbades d'or. Per timbre, una corona de baró.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 4, 2001.

Castellví de Rosanes was the centre of the barony of Castellvell (at the top of the arms you can see a baron crown). The arms are the ones of the barons of Castellvell (a silver castle on gules), and they are canting: a "castell" is a castle in Catalan. The two roses added at each side are also canting (in allusion to Rosanes).
