Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 15, 2008.

The colours are those used on the badges of the Coopérative des techniciens ambulanciers du Québec for years. The star of life is a symbol traditionally used by emergency medical technicians and paramedics. In this instance, it is distinguished by the addition of fleurs-de-lis, symbolizing Quebec.

The phoenix is a mythical creature that rises from the ashes with renewed life. For emergency medical technicians and paramedics, these creatures symbolize their work and their mission to save lives.

The motto means “For hope and life.”
