GERODA

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Saale-Orla Kreis

Geroda.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 16, 1995.

The municipality consists of three villages, each of which is represented by one of the fields. The village of Geroda is symbolised by the tree trunk, as Roden means clearing of a forest. The fence symbolises the village of Geheege and is a canting element (Gehege=fence). The bell symbolises the church in Wittchenstein, the only church in the municipality.
