BIZAU

State : Vorarlberg
District : Bregenz

Bizau.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 16, 1929.

Bizau used, like many other municipalities in the Bregenzer Wald, only a pine tree in its seal since the 19th century. To distinguish the arms from similar arms, three pine trees on a hill with the colours of Austria were chosen. The three trees and the red colour were derived from the arms of the Waldner von Plankenstein family, who played an important role in the loocal history.
