Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 27, 1908 and new arms on October 6, 1981.

The first arms were granted in 1980 and simply showed the arams of Hainaut. Th eonly local seal, from 1546 showed the Hainaut arms. After the merger a small shield was added with a bend with tow stars for Monte-Sainte-Aldegonde, and the former arms of Carnières.
