Origin/meaning
The current arams are those of the former Ikaalisten maalaiskunta, which were continued in 1972.
The previous arms were granted on October 16, 1961.
The silver wavy pile refers to the waterways (streams, lakes, rivers) in the municipality. The linden leaves refer to the tree plantations.
