Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on July 24, 1937.
The arms show in the first quarter the quartered arms of Querfurt and Mansfeld.. The counts of Mansfeld of the Querfurt family used as arms quartered Querfurt and Mansfeld. The second quarter represents the mining industry, which has been of importance in the area for centuries. The fish represents the many lakes and streams in the area.
