-The arms were granted on June 1, 1983.
-The arms show the keys of Saint Peter, the local patron saint. Alfarràs became a marquisat in 1702 (this is the reason of the marquis crown at the top), granted to the Boixadors family (symbolized by its arms, a green bush of box on gold). These arms are canting: the box is called "boix" in Catalan.
