Escudo de azul, roda de azenha de prata movente de duas géminas ondadas do mesmo, em campanha; em chefe, grelha de ouro, disposta em faixa. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ ALVELOS - BARCELOS “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 2, 2004.
The grill is the symbol of the local patron saint, St. Lawrence. The base shows the watermills in the Ameias river in the parish, which have been of great importance in the local development.
