AREZ

Municipality : Nisa
District : Portalegre

Arezn.png

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 30, 2002.

The arms show in the upper part the cross of the Order of Aviz, as the village historically was ruled by the order. The two fountains indicate the many springs and clear waters in the parish. The olive branch symbolises the importance of olive cultivation and olive oil production to the parish.
