Origin/meaning

These arms of the Abbey show a lion for Abbot Leo Haid, the founder of the Territorial Abbey, with ten stars to recall the ten monks who came with him at the foundation. The blue field honors the Blessed Virgin, under her title of Mary Help of Christians, the titular of the Church of Belmont Abbey
