BRDA

Coat of arms (crest) of Brda

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on ?

The arms show a bunch of grapes above a canting hill (brda=hills) and in the left part of the arms a watchtower. The grapes symbolise the importance of viticulture in the municipality. The tower symbolises the local castle.

The large armorial bearings (which are not too often used) show the arms with two supporters in local costumes, and a scroll with a text by the poet Alojz Gradnik (1882-1967): "Oh sweet land: stone, grain and juice / oh, sacred land, that gave me birth."
