Official blazon
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, a plate charged with a demi-torch enflamed Or. On either side of the shield a White bulldog, each one sitting on a Blue compartment facing outward and gorged with a Blue collar charged with three Gold spikes. Arching above the shield a Blue scroll inscribed “DESOTO COUNTY” in Gold letters.
Origin/meaning
Blue and white are the school colors. The bulldog is the school mascot.
The Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved 1 July 2004.
