Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1979.

The arms show a bat over thw scythes. The bat symbolises the many bats that hibernated in the local chalk mines in Daugbjerg and Mønsted. The scythes are of a local type used for clearing nettles, berries and other low plants from the fields.

The arms were granted with a black field, but in 2000 were shown with a red field, see below.
