Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on September 28, 1982.

The arms show a giant (Riese) as a canting symbol for Sigmund Ris, a famous humanist and artist and chaplain of Archduke Sigmund of Austria. He worked as a parish priest in Flaurling for nearly 50 years and made may works of art from wood.
