Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on 6 March, 1972.

The mitre refers to the chapel dedicated to St. Rupert, who is the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The four stars illustrate four former municipalities merged into one. The bar wavy shows the river Mur, flowing through the municipality.
