Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 24, 1980.

The wolf is taken from the arms of the State of Passau, to which the area historically belonged until 1751.

The two feathers refer to the local priest Konrad von Pottendorf, notary of Duke Leopold of Austria and a well-known author in his time, as well as the local teaching centre of the Archdiocese. The wheatear refers to the agricultural character of the municipality.
